A new year means stepping into a new phase of development for Bluhawk in south Overland Park.

Developer Price Brothers Management Co. is lining up plans for the next phase of its massive sports park and plans to double retail space for the mixed-use project at 16201 Shawnee Drive.

The $92 million first phase of the AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk opened for play on Oct. 26. It’s the anchor to the 277-acre campus, which also includes restaurants, retail space, apartments, offices, and the AdventHealth South Overland Park hospital.

The $40 million second phase would stretch the footprint of the sports park to more than 400,000 square feet by adding a second ice rink, another turf field, more locker rooms and additional flex spaces.
