Bluhawk Celebrates AdventHealth Sports Park’s First Year Delivering Community Impact and Sports Tourism

Overland Park, KS – November 5, 2025 – Bluhawk, the breakthrough destination at the Center of Sport + Lifestyle, celebrated the successful one-year anniversary of project anchor AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk. This milestone underscores the transformative role that Bluhawk is playing in Overland Park’s sports, retail, entertainment, and tourism ecosystem as it redefines the next generation of mixed-use projects.

“The vision for Bluhawk is to deliver a destination at the center of sport and lifestyle, creating an overall experience that can’t be found anywhere else,” said Bart Lowen, Vice President of Development for Price Brothers, Bluhawk’s developer, owner and operator. “The first-year success of the AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk demonstrates that weaving together competition, wellness and community creates a unique, cohesive experience not just for Overland Park, but for visitors regionally and nationally. The STAR Bond program has been instrumental in enabling us to realize this vision—creating exactly the type of regional tourism destination and economic generator the program was designed to support.”

Since opening October 26, 2024, the multi-sport and entertainment complex has expanded access to play and elevated performance at every level, while contributing significant economic value to the region. As a premier destination for amateur and youth sports, AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk has adopted the tagline, “one year strong, and just getting started,” and continues to strengthen the sports tourism landscape across the Kansas City metro, the Midwest, and national event circuits.

“The first-year success of AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk proves that the facility is more than just a sports complex; it’s a true destination,” said Greg Jackson, General Manager of AdventHealth Sports Park. “By combining elite tournament play with Hawk’s Outpost, our entertainment hub, we’ve created a best-in-class experience for athletes and families, driving significant economic impact and incredible memories. As the core anchor of Bluhawk, AdventHealth Sports Park provides world-class experiences that bring economic vitality and joy to Overland Park. We believe this is just the beginning of what will be achieved as the Sports Park expands in the coming years.”

In its first year of operation, AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk hosted 87 tournaments and events, attracting 110,235 attendees from all 50 states, and firmly establishing Overland Park on the national map as a premier destination for high-quality sports event hosting. The venue’s strong performance continued throughout 2025, welcoming 466,100 guests from January through August and generating an estimated $14.5 million in economic impact through July—validating its ability to drive travel, visitor spending, and jobs for the community.

At the heart of the guest experience is Hawk’s Outpost, the venue’s family entertainment center and a distinctive, premium amenity that sets AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk apart in a crowded sports tourism market. Hawk’s Outpost enhances the “play-all-day” value proposition—giving athletes, families, and fans, as well as the local community, more reasons to stay on-site, extend their visits, and return throughout the year. By seamlessly integrating competitive sports with family-friendly entertainment, Hawk’s Outpost strengthens the park’s appeal for event organizers and visiting teams looking for comprehensive experiences beyond the field of play.

Guests celebrated the first year with robust concessions sales that reflect both quality and variety. Chicken tenders were a standout favorite with 3,764 orders totaling approximately

1,530 pounds, while French fries and tater tots reached 2,977 orders totaling about 1,120 pounds—fueling fans and families throughout action-packed weekends.

“The existing and future retail, dining, entertainment, and hospitality options surrounding the venue keep athletes and their supporters engaged and active when visiting Bluhawk, while giving them reasons to come back,” Lowen added. “With plans for additional shopping, restaurants, and sports-related activities being announced soon, Bluhawk truly is the center of sports and lifestyle.”
