About the tournament and format:

The Kansas City Armed Forces Hockey Classic is the KC Warrior’s main fundraiser for the year. At this event, all money donated goes directly to the non-profit and provides services for disabled Veterans. Player registrations pay for the cost of the tournament (facility/ice, jerseys, and referee fees). Players include active duty, veterans, and civilians. Players are assigned to a team representing the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. We change the format every year in an attempt to make the tournament better and better. This year we have an intermediate (C/D) and lower (lower D/Z) league divisions. All players are guaranteed 4 games throughout the weekend.

KC Warriors Program Objectives:
The KC Warriors provide disabled veterans with a team-focused, physically challenging ice hockey program. Our non-profit organization provides the resources to help heal physical and mental injuries sustained during service.  Through sport and social engagement we help build a support network that restores confidence and camaraderie often lost after leaving the military. Warriors participate in regular practices, games, and tournaments, fostering self confidence  and teamwork. The program also offers mentorship opportunities, mental health support, and community engagement activities. To join the Warrior Program, disabled veterans must meet USA Hockey’s roster eligibility with a minimum VA disability rating of 10%.
